I wanted to do a flag burning on a pole and as part of my research i wanted to get the idea of what the flag looked like on a pole and as i was doing the english flag ( UK flag) i wanted to find that burnt but i have found it quite hard to find pictures of one being burnt i have only found one on fire and the one that has been put out. They all seem to be pictures of the USA
flags that are being set on fire.
However i wanted to do the UK flag on fire on the pole so i wanted the burn pastures of a flag being burnt as it was being g blown to the side so i got a picture of the UK flag on its side so i could see what it looked like on its side ( too give mine a general idea of what it looked like.
i then got a picture of the flag on fire just to give me an idea of how much of the design would be burnt even if it wasn't blowing or in the right position but this was the only picture of the flag on fire so i decided to put it on my blog as a sort of reference or idea of what it could look like as a protest.
The reason i wanted to do a piece where the Uk flag was burning was because it ties into my FMP as you are burning/dystorying the piece and everything that the flag stands for by going to war as it symbolises unity and the joining on nations rather then the Saint Georges / English Flag (or the Irish ,Welsh or Scottish Flags) as one individual flag.
The picture of the American flag on fire bellow is the style of burning i wanted to go down while using a similar art style used to create Eddie the head by Derek the iron maiden artist I wanted to do a WW2 or modern day soldier burning the flag in a similar position to that of the Trooper or along those lines.
