The first world war started on 28th July 1914 and ended 11th November 1918

Avant-guard-(from the French advance guard or vanguard) they experiment and innovate particularly  through art culture and politics.

DADA -was an artist movement  that began in 1916 I Zürich Switzerland and arose as a reaction to World War 1 and the problems the war brought about.
Hugo Ball
 Hugo ball was born in Germany on the 22nd February 1886 he studied philosophy and sociology at university and is known as a key player in the DaDa movement he tried joining the arm
y as a volunteer but was declined due to medical reasons.
