• Known as Ratty to his good friends badger toad and mole (although actually a water vole), he is cultured, relaxed and friendly, and lives a life of leisure, Ratty loves the river and befriends the shy and nervous mole he is well known to be sometime quite mischievous also he can can be stubborn and hard headed when it comes to doing things outside his riverside comfort
• Water vole  often called water rat although only distantly related to rats unlike the brown rat they only live in perfectly clean stretches of water their numbers however are declining rapidly in many areas  but to hunting by an increasing number of  mink  they are now rare.
